MY blog, MY rules

This is my blog and I get to write about whatever the hell I want. I get to decide whether an entry follows a certain “template” or not. I get to decide to add images or not (and I get to decide whether to use my own or not.) So spare me all those non-existent rules about blogging — I am not a celebrity or a journalist. I don’t even go around and brand myself a blogger despite having been doing this since I was thirteen. I know the ins-and-outs of “mainstream blogging” and I don’t want that. I am not marketing a product. I am not being sponsored. Just like what my introduction says, I just occasionally write about random odds and ends. In case you haven’t absorbed it yet, this is my personal page.

I don’t want a niched blog. I don’t need eye-catching entries. I just want to write.

You young bloods go ahead and make a collage about life lately, or take a generic hipster photograph overlaid with an equally-hipster pa-deep quote, for all I care.

Meanwhile, I will continue writing poems and stories, make one-sentence posts, rattle on about my stance on something, or just vent out my (sometimes strong) opinions and thoughts — because that’s what blogging is to me…

and it’s none of your effing business.

Blogging is very different today. Nakakapanibago, parang ako pa yung dapat magadjust kahit ang tagal ko na sa blogosphere. Haha pero ganun talaga, things change. It’s up ti you to accept it or not.

I still haven’t fully accepted these changes because I don’t really like everything. One thing I noticed, most bloggers have the same theme. Dun palang, masasabi kong iba na talaga. Dati, wala ka ata makikitang magkaparehong theme eh kasi parang yun yung “personality” ng blog mo. Another, there’s a blogging format na nga. Every post seems like a “guide” to everything. I think mas gusto ko pa yung mga Life Lately kasi parang mas may personal touch yun. Kesa yung “How to Go to *place*”, “10 Things to do in *place*”, etc etc though they can seem to be really helpful, parang parepareho na lahat. Someone asked me to blog in detail my previous travels last year (since I’ve gone to many provinces), like itinerary and stuff. I admit I have thought of that, but it’s not my blogging style. I don’t want to post about the itinerary, the things we dis and the places we visited in each province. A lot of travel blog have that already and besides my itinerary is very different to what everyone is looking for. Hindi pang-amazing race ang travels namin haha So i’d rather blog about my experience, because that where i’m comfortable of. Gusto ko yung nagkukwento lang. Hehe

I also wanted to have a niche blog kaso wala talaga eh, pang personal blog lang ako. Gusto ko lang magshare ng kwento. And unlike others, I never wanted to become famous haha until now my offline friends don’t know I blog hahaha

Maski bloghopping hindi na nga uso ngayon eh. Some blogger thinks they are THE blogger. Wala pa nga, malaki na agad ulo haha gusto nila sil yung inaapproach, hindi yung sila ang magaapproach.

Anyway, I’m back to blogging kahit ibang iba na talaga haha but I hope I’ll stay the same, as well as my blog. Because I know some people still like the old blogosphere, especially one blogger left a comment on my blog saying “Your blog reminded me of the sole reason why I loved reading blogs: I love people telling their own stories, sharing parts of their lives to inspire the world. :)”
Happy blogging Kei! 🙂 Blogging should be a stress-reliever! Happy thoughts lang hehehe

You took the words right out my mouth!

It’s not that I am not embracing the changes or their blogging style naman. It’s their blog, afterall. Just because I was “first” doesn’t mean I am right. And being late bloomers don’t make theirs less of a blog than mine is. It’s just that these “new-generation” bloggers think they’re all that and look down on our “personal” style. Super taas ng tingin nila sa sarili nila. Nakakainis kasi nagseset sila ng standards kumbaga. Been there, done that: it’s not my cup of tea. They’re kinda giving everyone else flak for not making their posts or theme “pleasng to the eye” by adding high quality photos, for using stock images sometimes, etc.

Nako minsan hindi stress-reliever ang blogging sakin. Hilig ko pa naman mag rant. Eitherway, I will keep on blogging. Napa-rant lang talaga hehe
